How the current PolityIQ website uses browser storage, hosting, external services and contact information.
What the site stores.
The current site uses browser local storage for features such as saved races, watchlists, simulator choices and previously retrieved results. These values stay in that browser unless a feature explicitly sends them elsewhere. They are not a registration account.
You can remove them using your browser’s site-data controls. Clearing storage removes saved preferences and cached results. Some features continue for the current visit when storage is unavailable.
Hosting and sign-in.
PolityIQ is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting and security providers may process information such as IP address, request time, browser information and diagnostic logs. Their own policies govern their processing and retention.
While the site is private, OpenAI’s ChatGPT sign-in controls access. The application’s owner tools use authenticated identity headers to restrict administrative functions. Viewing a public-facing page does not grant permission to edit polling or election data.
Third-party connections.
The current styles request fonts from Google Fonts, which receives normal network request information. Election and polling data is obtained from the sources credited on each desk. Following an external source link or opening X takes you to that provider’s site and privacy practices.
PolityIQ uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits, page views, referral sources and page performance. Its analytics beacon does not use cookies or local storage to measure usage and does not fingerprint individual visitors. This is separate from hosting and security logs. Messages and your choices.
Messages sent through X are also processed by X. Information you voluntarily include in a correction may be used to investigate the issue; avoid sending sensitive personal data.
For a privacy question or a request concerning information you supplied, use the contact route. We cannot set a retention period for independent providers or delete data held solely by them.
Updates.
This notice describes the current release. It should be updated before adding newsletter subscriptions, advertising, analytics, on-site accounts or contact forms with different data practices.
