02 / THE POLLING NOTEBOOK

Follow the public mood.

Published provincial voting-intention polls.

Each dot is a published poll, not a projection. The date basis is labelled for each poll. Index dates can differ from fieldwork dates. Gaps do not imply steady support. Party series may be incomplete.

03 / OPEN ABOUT THE DATA

A countrywide archive. A visible audit trail.

This atlas brings together election records and boundary layers. It is independent of election agencies. Current party identities are used for identification; they are not historical logos for every year. Abbreviations mark parties without a verified logo. Compiled records are not certified results; party totals are calculated from the highest recorded candidate vote in each riding. Ties, missing votes and deferred contests remain unresolved.

Boundaries change

Maps are attached to their boundary era. Where an appropriate reusable map is unavailable, the results remain searchable without a substitute map.

Consensus government

Northwest Territories and Nunavut elect independent candidates. Their pages show individual contests rather than a fictional party race.

Polling, without invented precision

Only sourced provincial voting intention is shown. Federal regional subsamples are excluded. A missing series is labelled, never filled with estimated data.
